About the camp

Camp Rising Sun - is an international, prestigious and unique youth camp, held annually,

For about eighty years, in New York State, USA. The program takes place during the summer months and brings together selected and exceptionally high-quality youth from around the world, who all undergo a rigorous screening process.

Each year, a girl and a boy from each country are sent to the program, who are required to represent their country, experience challenging and diverse tasks, and make the most of their time at the camp. Representatives from dozens of countries around the world come to the camp, including many from Europe, Africa, South and Central America, the United States, as well as neighboring countries such as Jordan, Egypt, Iran, and the Palestinian Authority.

The program is managed and fully funded by a private foundation that operates the camp -
The Louis August Jonas Foundation
In order to allow every particularly talented girl and boy to take part, regardless of their financial situation.
The camp's activities are approved by the Israeli Ministry of Education, which supports and enables the Israeli Alumni Association.
Conduct selections among schools in Israel, and at the end of this unique selection and evaluation process,

A girl and a boy are selected to go to both camps and represent the State of Israel.
The State of Israel has a long tradition of representation in the camp, and many of those who were privileged to take part in it in their youth,
Seek excellence and leadership in the fields of academia, social and public leadership, diplomacy, and more.
